In the foreground we see the roof of St Michael the Archangel Church built on the Roman rotunda from the 5th century; the light spot in the background is the City of Assisi nestling against the mountain slope; the Monte Subasio massif – the holly mountain of St Francis and thousands of pilgrims following his steps – is towering over it all.
Looking out through the Monteripido library’s window one can see a better, more beautiful world. The one we are all searching and longing for. The world of harmony, good and peace.
Learning patiently how to write beautiful letters, we are experiencing the great power of words in our everyday life. The words we read and write. The words of friendly conversations and public debate. The words by which we tell children about the world…
